What Does FAITH do?
Scripture Reading (Hebrews 11).
1.Every man has a measure of faith
For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. (Romans 12:3).
2.We cannot please God without Faith
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11:6).
3. We cannot pray, without having faith
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. (James 1:6)
4. We cannot be saved without faith
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (Ephesians 2:8).
5. We cannot live for God without Faith
The just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17
6. You cannot walk the walk or talk the talk without faith
We walk by faith and not by sight (2 Cor 5:7)
NOTES:
FAITH BUILDERS: WHAT DOES FAITH DO... Faith gives you courage to move on and embrace the new. Faith gives you the ability to say yes to the challenge and say no to the disappointments. Faith moves you out of the rut and into revival, out of hopelessness and into a bright tomorrow. Faith lets Go of yesterday and let's God do something new today. Faith says yes when doubt says no, Faith embraces new things, horizons, possibilities, dreams and a new start. Yes that’s what FAITH is... A new Start.. Embrace faith today, change your life tomorrow.. "ALL things are possible to him who believes." (Jesus).
Faith is the working out of all impossibilities so that when you arrive at a deciding point you get rid of all options. It's saying yes when you dare not say No. Its embracing the world thing to do the great thing and then move silently into action
Faith does not require a debate. You can't debate God anymore than you can debate with your ultimate destiny, the thing God has in store for you. Its a present, a gift., God's gift to you. Yes faith is God's gift to you to do what you are not capable of doing without him. Its a bit like a business deal with divinity. God needs You and you need divinity. Now with that in mind ask yourself what are you doing that's just simply out of this world?
Faith makes invisible things seeable and embraceable, Faith energises the life within and says, "let's do it!"
The source of your future is your faith, the faith you have right now, which means right now if you have faith you can create your future and live it as if it already exists. Faith says it does. So why wait for tomorrow? Your future has already arrived!

#13 The Believers Diligence
By Paul B Thomas
Topic: Diligence
Scripture Reading: 2 Cor 8;7 Proverbs 6:6-11
Purpose: Diligence enables us to keep what God has blessed us with. Diligence enables us to own our lives and take control of our future. These are principles which rule the financial, spiritual and earthly worlds and should not be confused with grace and favour. Neither substituted for the course of diligence.
1.What is the believer exhorted to excel in?
But as you excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you – see that you excel in this act of grace also. (2 Cor 8:7e ESV).
2.What are we to add to our faith?
For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self- control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. (2 Peter 1;5-7 ESV).
3.What does Solomon say in relation to a Shepherds diligence.
Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks (Proverbs 27:3).
4.What does the wisest man who ever lived say regarding financial diligence.
He that gatherers in summer is a wise son but he that sleepers in harvest is a son that causeth shame (Proverbs 10:5).
5.Can a believer be rich in industry (business).
The hand of the diligent maketh rich (Proverbs 10:4).
6.How does Preparation and planning ward off poverty.
Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man. (Proverbs 6;6-11).
7.We are to be diligence in keeping our motives and attitude pure
Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. (Proverbs 4;23).
8.What is the key to the believer’s harvest of blessing?
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. (Gal 6:9)
9.How should we be diligent in our seeking after God?
But without faith it is impossible to please God; for he that comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11;6)
He set himself to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God, and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him prosper. (2 Chron 26:5).
10.How does diligence lead to promotion in the workplace
The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute. (Proverbs 12;24).
Tribute: Tax in the form of enforced labour.
These papers are written By Paul B Thomas for the propagation of the true gospel of Jesus Christ, the understanding of the apostles doctrine and the revelation of Jesus Christ.
NOTES:
Diligence is the ability to navigate struggles and setbacks and arrivei at ones chosen open heaven.
In life we all face struggles. whether you’re a surgeon or street cleaner, an aristocrat or a street artist. rich or poor. struggles are challenges, opportunities to get out of the rut and every vocation rich or poor has its ruts). its monotonous moments, its routine, its ritual and its struggles.
Diligence is the art of the smart and the reward of the faithful. the faithful shall abound with blessings and indeed there in no greater area in which one should be faithful than in the area of struggle sand setback. if you can master these two barriers you can win in life. ignore them and you’re doomed to failure.
Diligence is the art of the smart who find solutions to problems others are overcome by. Those who get ahead of the crowd are indeed those who can navigate crisis and push forward irrespective of obstacles in their way. Instances are indeed stepping stones to a higher dimension. and it’s as we have a positive view of obstacles we see them not as barriers but open gates. Access points to what’s bigger, better and more desirable.
QUESTIONS:
1.What is the definition of diligence mean? What’s the meaning of “tribute” as in Prov 12:24? 2.List three aspects of diligence? 3.What are the differences between a prosperous man and a sluggard? 4.How can the believer develop habits of industry, technology and spirituality.

A MINI COURSE
Hear the word of the LORD, O children of Israel, for the LORD has a case against the people of the land: “There is no truth, no loving devotion, and no knowledge of God in the land! Cursing and lying, murder and stealing, and adultery are rampant; one act of bloodshed follows another. 3Therefore the land mourns, and all who dwell in it will waste away (Hosea 4:1)
1.God has a controversy with the people
Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. (Hosea 4:1)
2..Rampant Crime and lawlessness in the city
Hear the word of the LORD, O children of Israel, for the LORD has a case against the people of the land: “There is no truth, no loving devotion, and no knowledge of God in the land! 2Cursing and lying, murder and stealing, and adultery are rampant; one act of bloodshed follows another. 3Therefore the land mourns, and all who dwell in it will waste away with the beasts of the field and the birds of the air; even the fish of the sea disappear.… (Hosea 4:1-3)
The earth mourns and withers; the world languishes and fades; the exalted of the earth waste away. / The earth is defiled by its people; they have transgressed the laws; they have overstepped the decrees and broken the everlasting covenant. / Therefore a curse has consumed the earth, and its inhabitants must bear the guilt; the earth’s dwellers have been burned, and only a few survive. (Isaiah 2:4-6)
Where there is no law the people ramp violent. Murder and stealing brings fear to the inhabitants as they loose trust in local government No one benefits but the criminals the thieves and the reckless, why the law covers them. The law favours the unjust and so business is destroyed as business folks abandon the state. as the scripture states, 3'Therefore the land mourns, and all who dwell in it will waste away.' (Hosea 4:3)
2.You will become slaves to other nations
Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joy and gladness of heart in all your abundance, you will serve your enemies the LORD will send against you in famine, thirst, nakedness, and destitution. He will place an iron yoke on your neck until He has destroyed you. (DEUT 28:47)
3.Your gates shall be useless Foreigners will besiege your cities
They will besiege all the cities throughout your land, until the high and fortified walls in which you trust have fallen. They will besiege all your cities throughout the land that the LORD your God has given you. (V;52).
And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustest, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the LORD thy God hath given thee. (KJV)
4.Pandemics and plagues shall be your portion
If you are not careful to observe all the words of this law which are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and awesome name—the LORD your God— He will bring upon you and your descendants extraordinary disasters, severe and lasting plagues, and terrible and chronic sicknesses. He will afflict you again with all the diseases you dreaded in Egypt, and they will cling to you. The LORD will also bring upon you every sickness and plague not recorded in this Book of the Law, until you are destroyed. You who were as numerous as the stars in the sky will be left few in number, because you would not obey the voice of the LORD your God. (Deuteronomy 28:59, 60-61).
5. Those who speak with interity shall be a laughing stock
There are those who hate the one who reproves in the gate and despise him who speaks with integrity. (Amos 5:10)
“Don’t say such things,” the people respond. “Don’t prophesy like that. Such disasters will never come our way!” (Micah 2:6 NLT).
“Do not preach,” they preach. “Do not preach these things; disgrace will not overtake us.” 7Should it be said, O house of Jacob, “Is the Spirit of the LORD impatient? Are these the things He does?” .. (Micah 2:6 Berean)
6. For the time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine,
…..but with itching ears they will gather around themselves teachers to suit their own desires. / So they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. (2 Timothy 4:3,4)
7. The wicked will call bad, ‘good’ and Good ‘evil!’
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who turn darkness to light and light to darkness, who replace bitter with sweet and sweet with bitter. (Isaiah 5:20).
8. Gods promise
1In the last days the mountain of the house of the LORD will be established as the chief of the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and the peoples will stream to it. And many nations will come and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us His ways, so that we may walk in His paths. ”For the law will go forth from Zion and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. Then He will judge between many people and arbitrate for strong nations far and wide. Then they will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will no longer take up the sword against nation nor will they train anymore for war. And each man will sit under his own vineyard, under his own fig tree with no one to frighten him For the mouth of the LORD of Hosts has spoken. Though each of the peoples may walk in the name of his god, yet we will walk in the name of the LORD our God forever and ever. (Isaiah 2L:1-5) (Micah 4:1-5)
NOTES:
Note the cause for the problems, anti God rebellion ‘there is no knowledge of God in the land’ Its amazing how in the twenty first century has at it’s disposal all the means necessary for getting the good news of the gospel out there to every man in every place, 24/7 yet however today's generation seems to display much ignorance of God than any before it, Even in America and Britain once seen as Christ nations the signs of the deuteronical curses are most evident. The answer I believe lies in the beliefs of the church we have replaced the one God with trinitarianism's triune God, born of water and spirit with easy believism. as well as a host of other practices that have become doctrines to which God will not honor. such practices rob us of the living witness of what our faith is truly about.
Questions to Consider: 1.When nations set themselves against God what happens (Psalm 2:4,5) 2. Whose hand does God move? (Proverbs 21:1) 3. God’s sovereignty is his right and power to do all that he decides to do. (Job 42:2) What do you understand about God's sovereignity? For further Study: Literature: visit brother Paul on amazon for pentecostal/ apostolic ebookshttps://www.amazon.co.uk/Paul-Thomas/e/B005SRDAES

1.A happy home is a home where everyone is edified, appreciated, valued and cares one for another. God gave us the foundation for a happy home(Genesis 2;8)
2. To make a happy home a man needs a happy woman(Genesis 2;18)
3. A happy home shares the same values
4. A happy home shares the same goals, dreams and ideals
5. A happy home is where folks are thought well of. ‘The glory of children are their fathers (Proverbs 17;6)
6. A happy home is where there is mutual submission (Ephesians 5:22,23)
7. A happy home is where there’s a healthy balance between recreation together and ones separate work. The happy home has time for each other and values a time for work. (Ecc 3:1-9) And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.
8.A happy home values the elderly and takes time to visit the sick (Proverbs 23;22) ‘Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.’ (Lev 19:32) Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the LORD.
9.Care one for another is a foundation for a happy home (1 Cor 12:25)
10.A happy home has time for God, prayer and church fellowship (Hebrews 1:;25).
The family that loves the Lord is a happy family. It has structure and order. and because it has structure and order it finds peace and security. The family that has a family prayer time has intimacy and love a boding takes place and togetherness is real and never superficial. Children grow up with a Christ like trust, confidence in themselves their faith and their Lord. A Godly family true raises positive kids, kids who will walk in wisdom and carry forth the purposes of God to their generation.
It must be strongly noted that it is never the governments job or duty to raise up children rather it is the parents duty to instruct their children. No one knows the children better than the parents and its the parents who are required by the Lord to teach them the ways of the lord. hence they will take on the success that alone God them later in their life. There is no place that prepares them for failure or success greater than the home. The home is where they learn their values, approval, confidence and place in life and family. THE HOME IS THE EDUCATIONAL CENTER OF LIFE. There is no place more important that the family home.

Reading Psalm 100
1.Who is God?
Know ye that the Lord he is God it is he that has made us not we ourselves (Psalm 100:3.4)
2. Knowing Jesus is Lord is essential for salvation
that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)
3. There is only one Lord
…There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.… (Ephesians 4:5)
4. Lord means supreme in authority
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. (Acts 2:36).
5. Thomas cried out My Lord and my God
Then Jesus said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and look at My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Stop doubting and believe.” 28Thomas replied, “My Lord and my God!” 29Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”… (John 20:28
5.The Prophets declared the Lord he is God...
Know therefore this day, and consider it in your heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else. (Deut 4:39).For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; he is God; that formed the earth and made it; he established it, he created it not a waste, he formed it to ( Isaiah 45:18)And they shall know that I am the LORD their God with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, declares the Lord GOD. ... (Ezekiel 34:30).The Lord came to earth as JesusAnd the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. . Luke 1:28Saul when he was travelling on the road to Damascus encountered the Lord. “Who art thou Lord?” I am Jesus! (Acts 9:5). Was he not baptized into the name. Saul preached the gospel of the one who salved him.Jesus is God made known to us. Emmanuel "God" with us (Matt 1:23). The very God made visible. God in flesh, God in a body. (1 Timothy 3:16)
7.. Explain the difference between the Lord God and The Lord Jesus?
A. The term "Lord God" is found in the Old Testament and the term "Lord Jesus" is a term referring to Jesus in the new. The Lord Jesus is the "Lord God" in the flesh visible, whereas the Lord God in the Old Testament was the invisible God.
NOTES:
a. Jesus is God made known to us. Emmanuel "God" with us (Matt 1:23). The very God made visible. God in flesh, God in a body. (1 Timothy 3:16) Now we can see him we can know him. he is God very God! Son in his humanity, God in his deity. When Jesus came to earth as a man he did not cease being God he just have up his rightful prerogative to act as God. He laid aside his power and authority and became a man in order to live and die for man and as man became the sacrifice but as God became the one who gave us the sacrifice the sacrifice of himself. (Philippians 2:5-7).
b. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God (John 1;1)
God is logical and is the source of all logic. He himself is the Logos or logic, he does not have to have another think for him, or talk for him, He himself has his own logic. All things were made by him (v4) and in him was life (v4)Notice the singular "him. "The world was made by "him" not them. (v12).If the world was made by "him" then "he" was the creator. Verse 9, tells us that the world did not know him. (verse 14) and the word became flesh and dwelt among us. but they knew not him. There is a scripture in Luke 24;24 they did not know himHe came to his own and his own received him not. Just before he went up into heaven, we find that they did not understand who he was, the Lord was with them all this time yet they did not understand him or some of the things he taught. The things he taught was hidden from them and he had to "open up their understanding "Is it possible to walk with God yet be blind to certain truths? I think so. This is why the Lord has to open our understanding so that we can understand by the spirit the things we cannot grasp or understand in the flesh. We can see the flesh man and see him as a SON and nothing more, yet when he APPEARED to Thomas, in his transformed state, his God state, as he is now, eternally. He is the lord God. Thomas acknowledge that, the moment he saw his hands and feet, his eyes were opened by the spirit and he acclaimed "MY LORD AND MY GOD." Many call him doubting Thomas yet he was the first apostle (after the resurrection) to acknowledge Jesus as both LORD and GOD. Without the spirit of understanding no man can know God for the things of God are foolishness to them. The same spirit in Thomas and Peter too who acknowledged the Lord as both Lord and God also in (Acts 2;36) and here John in John 1;1,13 and Paul also in Titus 2;23 and 1timothy 3;16, is in You. to open up your understanding too so that you may also see the Ruling, reigning, present God, "Jesus!"

God is Willing to HEAL you.

Jesus had just finished his sermon the sermon of the mount. When a leper came and fell down at his feet and worshipped him.. A leper came to Jesus and said Lord if thou wilt thou canst make me clean. "I WILL" said Jesus..."BE THOU CLEAN" (Matthew 8:3). Jesus said "I will" and he said "BE thou made clean. The "I WILL" was connected to "Right now" His will is always right now. God is willing to heal and his will is that you be healed right now.
The second I WILL is found in the account of the roman soldier in (Matthew 8;7). Lord he said, He himself was ‘Lord but he met the Lord of lord's. "my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy grievously tormented (Matthew 8:6)... grievously tormented. what a state of mind, soul and body. jesus replied, " "I WILL come and HEAL HIM." (Matthew 8;7).
The third I WILL of Jesus IS FOUND in the account of the little girl Jesus was willing to heal her too. Matthew 15:21-28. "Then Jesus ... went north to the region of Tyre and Sidon. A Gentile woman who lived there came to him, pleading, 'Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! For my daughter is possessed by a demon that torments her severely.' But Jesus gave her no reply, not even a word. Then his disciples urged Him to send her away ... Then Jesus said to the woman, 'I was sent only to help God's lost sheep—the people of Israel.' But she came and worshiped him, pleading again, 'Lord, help me!' Jesus responded, 'It isn't right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.' She replied, 'That's true, Lord, but even dogs are allowed to eat the scraps that fall beneath their masters' table.' 'Dear woman,' Jesus said to her, 'your faith is great. Your request is granted.' And her daughter was instantly healed."
This women acted on here daughters behalf. Think of this. Her mother had faith, you may be a grandmother who is believing God for a miracle today. He is never unwilling to come to come wherever there is the cry and call of faith, maybe youre too weak to cry out, but Jeus will never ignore you. maybe your are so weak that another has to stand in the gap for you and believe Jesus. Jesus willcoem yes he will and heal you. You see he does not respond to our ability or need but he he responds to FAITH. If you call by FAITH Jesus will come to you. Your need does not bring his healing power, his presence is always with you but that anointing where he said I WILL, is his response to your FAITH. Not your condition but your FAITH. Today is God's NOW believe in his ability to heal you.God to him NOW.Touch himHe's that close to youTalk to him until you feel his presence... yes do that right nowThen , yers Then, Recieve it.

On READING THE SCRIPTURES
Reading Luke 10
How Readest thou ? (Luke 10:26)
We should read the scriptures To know the man Jesus.
We should read scripture to discover life and how live holy.
We should read the scripture to keep our soul saved and our love pure.
We should read the scripture to obtain wisdom and so become success.
We should read the scriptures to be a people of faith power and confidence.
We should read the scriptures to keep us saved and right with God.
We should read the scriptures because we love the Lord.
There is Illumination that comes from reading the scriptures
Jesus stood up and read the scriptures.
He taught in their synagogues and was glorified by everyone. 16Then Jesus came toNazareth, where He had been brought up. As was His custom, He entered the synagogue onthe Sabbath. And when He stood up to read,17the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. Unrolling it, He found the place where it was written:… Luke 4:15.
As you read the scriptures, the supernatural can take place. You will find the presence of God real and be able to hear him speak through the written word.
There is authority that comes from reading the scriptures.
Reading gives knowledge and knowledge understanding. Paul writes like this. "Do not be conformed to the world but be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you may discern what is the will of God" (Romans 12:2).
Reading the scriptures helps us understand God's will for our lives.
Many are constantly asking what is God's will for me. If you will only take the time to read the scriptures then you will clearly know God's will for you. It is true God uses thatose that are readers. for expounding and explaining are part of the ministers duties. God uses those that are readers! If you are a reader God will use you!
If you read the scriptures you will have direction and confidence to serve him, in church and in the world as a living active witness. A person who is a witness is first a reader for the scriptures unlock confidence thus making his witness authentic and real.
There is Ministry that comes from reading the Scriptures.
Reading will make you a confident witness. You'll have knowledge that will let your light shine. and the reaon is this the light has first shined in you. God has spoken to you and that working of his word provids the confidence needed to be a light in a dark world. You'll have answers that others wont have and be confident to engage with folks that others find unapproachable.
In reading lies illumination
How he made known to me the mystery (Ephesians 1:9).
The Lord has yet more truth to break forth out of his word. Luther and Calvin were great and shining lights in their times, yet they penetrated not into the whole counsel of God; but were they now living would be willing to embrace more light, as that which they had first recieved. I beseech you to remember it- is is as an article of your church covenant that you be ready to receive whatever truth is made known to you from the written word (Rev John Robertson. Puritan leader).
NOTES:
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: (Ephesians 1;17).
He taught in their synagogues and was glorified by everyone. 16Then Jesus came toNazareth, where He had been brought up. As was His custom, He entered the synagogue onthe Sabbath. And when He stood up to read,17the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. Unrolling it, He found the place where it was written:… (Luke 4:16).
Reading the criptures should be both a private and a public practice. reading in public is a biblical exercise. Reading should be carried out in a respectful manner and scriptures should not be read as something to use to get to the main point. The mann point is the scriptures. and in the scriptures themselves the reader should seek revelation and insight from the Spirit of God who alone can open up what’s written and illuminate ones soul and mind.
When man preaches he should preach like a prince in the pulpit and when he reads scripture he should read the oracles like a scholar. Expounding and disecting, revealing and unlocking key principles points and truths. Care should be taken in revealing text, context and pretext.
Careful reading leads to magnifcant teaching. the best teachers and at their best great readers. great readers make the best leaders too. leadership comes from understanding what is read. and great leadership comes from being able to apply what is read. In reading lies wisdom and in wisdom lies understanding.
As one reads scripture so the Spirit can speak through the reader. This takes a sincere respect for God’s word and the appropriation of it in ones daily study.

Unlocking the Apostles Doctrine for a Book of Acts Awakening

The Believer and Reading The Scriptures (1)
THE BELIEVERS BIBLE STUDY
Stewards of The Mysteries of God
Reading The Scripture
By Paul B Thomas
Topic: The Believer and Reading there Scriptures.
Scripture Reading: (Ephesians 1:17).
Purpose: Discover the purpose and value of reading scriptures constantly. Reading is a habit everyone ought to develop. All successful men read daily all successful teachers and preachers study what is read daily. All successful believers become what they read daily.
1.What did Jesus say to the Jews concerning the scriptures
Search the scriptures for in them ye think they have eternal life; and they are which testify of me (John 5:39).
2.Is the whole volume of the bible about Jesus
Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God (Hebrews 10:7 Psalm 40:7).
3 For what the Berean’s commended?
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so (Acts 17:11).
4.How should we study the scriptures?
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).
5.How should a believer progress in one’s knowledge?
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.(Hebrews 5:12,13,13).
6.What is the comparison between believers using milk and teachers building an understanding of scriptures.
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat (Hebrews 5:13-14).
7.How are we to go on unto perfection?
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit (Hebrews 6:1,2,3).
8.How are we to progress into maturity?
But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak (Hebrews 6:9).
9.How are we to inherit the promises, the things that accompany salvation?
That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (Hebrews 6:12).
10.What is the immutability of his counsel?
Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: (Hebrews 6:17).
11.What is impossible for God to do?
That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: (Hebrews 6:18).
12.What does our Hope in Christ do?
Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; (Hebrews 6:19).
13.Explain the importance of comparing scripture with scripture to get correct understanding of its meaning?
And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction (2 Peter 3,15,16).
14. Why is it important to have the Holy Ghost to help us understand scripture?
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. (1 Cor 2;10-12).
15.Can the natural mind of the carnal man understand scriptures?
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Cor 2:14).
15. How are we to seek the treasures of Gods’ word?
Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God (Proverbs 2:3-5).
16.What benefit is there in reading
And that from a child thou hast known the Holy Scriptures which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 3;15).
NOTES: Today many are into entertainment reading, they read what is amusing and news breaking, scandalous and worldly. Confession and repentance must be the consequences of devotional reading (Charles Coulson) Our devotional reading should be long term, as we aim for total transformation over a period of time, hence it must become a discipline and not a quick fix or quick read or a momentary habit that becomes customary. Total transformation is possible with daily heart seeking devotional reading. Readers make Leaders. To be a great leader one must be a great book lover. A reader of scriptures a reader of history and legacies. In reading lies knowledge and in knowledge lies wisdom. Wise leaders lead with wisdom. the knowledge of God his laws and his kingdom guides them. Readers study greatness and their Great God and Savior Jesus Christ. No man can be great without following the one who gave us the greatest of all books, his life story, his legacy, the Bible!
So Philip ran up and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked. How can I,” he said, “unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. (Acts 8:230). The Eunich was seeking the scriptures, Phillip was sent by the Spirit of the Lord to help him understand scriptures. It is our duty as ministers off the gospel to help others who are seeking scripture to find their salvation in Christ. This one encounter led to the millions that have been saved in Africa Today.
Questions to Consider: What is my daily reading pattern? We can listen to YouTube preaching, but reading allows you to form your own views and also allows the Holy Ghost to illuminate and uncover truth specifically to you. Reading requires your mind to dig deep. Hence reading is more beneficial than watching media. Reading is educative and prooductive. reading idiscip[lines the mind and expands it. Readers are seekers. How readest thou (Luke 10;26. Acts).

The Family Table
THE BELIEVERS BIBLE STUDY
Stewards of The Mysteries of God
# The Family Table:
Scripture: When one of those who reclined at table with him heard these things, he said to him, “Blessed is everyone who will eat bread in the kingdom of God!” But he said to him, “A man once gave a great banquet and invited many. And at the time for the banquet he sent his servant to say to those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’ But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. Please have me excused.’ And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to examine them. Please have me excused.’ (Luke 14:14-24)
INTRODUCTION:
Building a Godly family. The table is an important place in scripture. David Brought Mephosheth to the table. Jesus last supper was around the table. The best know psalm psalm 23 tells us thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.
1.The family table is a place of eating and bible study
In the above scripture we see Jesus reclining at the table and teaching his disciples. The parable of the Guests (Luke 14:7-15). But when you host a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind, 14and you will be blessed. Since they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.” 15When one of those reclining with Him heard this, he said to Jesus, “Blessed is everyone who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.”…
2,The family Table the place of instructions
In business we have the negotiating table where two individuals sit and discuss the terms and conditions of business. Similarly the home must have its place and time for instruction, reflection and devotion. This is family building time. The discipline of the family table is essential for building children of character, there they learn the values of family togetherness a lesson that will serve them well in later life when they themselves will have their own wives and children.
The second parable Jesus taught at the Table. The parable of the Banquet Luke 14:15-24) When one of those reclining with Him heard this, he said to Jesus, “Blessed is everyone who will eat at the feastc in the kingdom of God.”But Jesus replied, “A certain man prepared a great banquet and invited many guests. When it was time for the banquet, he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready. But one after another they all began to make excuses. The first one said, ‘I have bought a field, and I need to go see it. Please excuse me.’ Another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to try them out. Please excuse me.’Still another said, ‘I have married a wife, so I cannot come. ’The servant returned and reported all this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the city, and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame. ’‘Sir,’ the servant replied, ‘what you ordered has been done, and there is still room. ’So the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedges and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full For I tell you, not one of those men who were invited will taste my banquet.’ ”
3.The family table is a place of covenant
For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night He was betrayed, took bread, 24and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me (1 Cor 11:24).
4.The family table is a place of remembrance
This do in remembrance of me (1 Cor 11:25).
In the above scripture we remember the death burial of the Lord Jesus. this is why its important to have communion or the Lord s supper in our fellowship. Secondly its important to have a daily table at home so that we too can reflect on the ‘provisions’ of the Lord and reflect on his goodness in supplying our daily needs and daily bread.
5.The family table is a place of unity
When Paul speaks of the church “coming together,” or “assembling as a church,” he is not primarily talking about a morning service but a gathering around the table,
6.The family table is a place for service
Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will dress himself for service and have them recline at table, and he will come and serve them. (Luke 12:37)
7.The Lord’s table The family table.
It is the family of kings, its the kings table. where kings dine and fellowship.Jesus used the table to instruct his disciples regarding his day. The communion table as we know it, where the Lord taught his twelve about his death and resurrection. secrets only the closest in his family knew. Today folks don’t use the table to sit around and enjoy a family meal together. we sit around the Tv. My suggestions here are for a more intimate family. Where we can chat and discuss the more important things of life. where fathers can set the agenda and give instructions for the day. Where we learn to value the hands of the one who prepared our food and where we learn to share our deepest concerns and heartfelt love. all these things we will loose if we do not have the family table
NOTES
PRACTICAL reasons why we should sit around the table
Research was done by the BBC reveals that children and teenagers who regularly sit down for meals with others, and a healthier diet, including more fruits, vegetables, and nutrients. for example. If we are alone we tend to binge but when we are in the company of others we curtail our habits. so for this reason alone the family meal time is profitable. Secondly, children also learn how to eat well and socialize by observing others at the table. adults can play the role model around the table, its a place where children learn the habits of their parents which can pay dividends later in life as they deal with business people around the table and how they interact with others socially and at business meals. (The surprising benefits of eating together – BBC Food)
The table is a place of intimacy and family. Folks go out together to the city and find a cafe store where they can sit and chat, the time together around the table allows us to share our stories, rehearse our memories, enjoy each other and laugh together, there’s nothing like the table. I remember as a child the times we had our daily family meals at the table. we had no distractions like the television or video, what gave us great satisfaction was the conversations we had together. It brought unity, built discipline and taught us manners and respect for others. It gave us the value of togetherness as a family. There’s nothing like the family table.
We went to the house of the Lord the local church three times on a Sunday and two to three times in the weekday. As a child yet I wanted to play and go up the mountains nearby but the times of fellowship at the church stay in my mind and heart to this day. The songs I sang over and over again stay fresh in my mind years later they bring back wonderful memories. the scriptures we learned the stories we hared of Samson and David and the giant, Joseph and his dreams, Jesus and his miracles gave me faith yes faith to believe incredible things. I loved the family table.
The disciples gathered on the first day of the week around the table
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. (Acts 20:7).I’m glad Jesus brought me to the table. I’m thinking of the scripture in Son of Solomon. ‘He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.’ (Song of Solomon 2:4). I’m convinced its time to get back to the table where we can eat like kings fellowship like kings and talk like kings. Mephibosheth found his place at the kings table and its there too we can receive a personal revelation of the love of the Lord.
