God is Willing to HEAL you.

Jesus had just finished his sermon the sermon of the mount. When a leper came and fell down at his feet and worshipped him.. A leper came to Jesus and said Lord if thou wilt thou canst make me clean. "I WILL" said Jesus..."BE THOU CLEAN" (Matthew 8:3). Jesus said "I will" and he said "BE thou made clean. The "I WILL" was connected to "Right now" His will is always right now. God is willing to heal and his will is that you be healed right now.
The second I WILL is found in the account of the roman soldier in (Matthew 8;7). Lord he said, He himself was ‘Lord but he met the Lord of lord's. "my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy  grievously tormented (Matthew 8:6)... grievously tormented.  what a state of mind, soul and body. jesus replied, " "I WILL come and HEAL HIM." (Matthew 8;7).
The third I WILL of Jesus IS FOUND in the account of the little girl Jesus was willing to heal her too. Matthew 15:21-28. "Then Jesus ... went north to the region of Tyre and Sidon. A Gentile woman who lived there came to him, pleading, 'Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! For my daughter is possessed by a demon that torments her severely.' But Jesus gave her no reply, not even a word. Then his disciples urged Him to send her away ... Then Jesus said to the woman, 'I was sent only to help God's lost sheep—the people of Israel.' But she came and worshiped him, pleading again, 'Lord, help me!' Jesus responded, 'It isn't right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.' She replied, 'That's true, Lord, but even dogs are allowed to eat the scraps that fall beneath their masters' table.' 'Dear woman,' Jesus said to her, 'your faith is great. Your request is granted.' And her daughter was instantly healed."

This women acted on here daughters behalf. Think of this. Her mother had faith, you may be a grandmother who is believing God for a miracle today. He is never unwilling to come to come wherever there is the cry and call of faith, maybe youre too weak to cry out, but Jeus will never ignore you. maybe your are so weak that another has to stand in the gap for you and believe Jesus.  Jesus willcoem yes he will and heal you. You see he does not respond to our ability or need but he he responds to FAITH. If you call by FAITH Jesus will come to you. Your need does not bring his healing power, his presence is always with you but that anointing where he said I WILL, is his response to your FAITH. Not your condition but your FAITH. Today is God's NOW believe in his ability to heal you.God to him NOW.Touch himHe's that close to youTalk to him until you feel his presence... yes do that right nowThen , yers Then, Recieve it.

On READING THE SCRIPTURES
Reading Luke 10

How Readest thou ? (Luke 10:26)

We should read the scriptures To know the man Jesus.
We should read scripture to discover life and how live holy.
We should read the scripture to keep our soul saved and our love pure.
We should read the scripture to obtain wisdom and so become success.
We should read the scriptures to be a people of faith power and confidence.
We should read the scriptures to keep us saved and right with God.
We should read the scriptures because we love the Lord.

There is Illumination that comes from reading the scriptures

Jesus stood up and read the scriptures.
He taught in their synagogues and was glorified by everyone. 16Then Jesus came toNazareth, where He had been brought up. As was His custom, He entered the synagogue onthe Sabbath. And when He stood up to read,17the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. Unrolling it, He found the place where it was written:… Luke 4:15.
As you read the scriptures, the supernatural can take place. You will find the presence of God real and be able to hear him speak through the written word.

There is authority that comes from reading the scriptures.
Reading gives knowledge and knowledge understanding. Paul writes like this. "Do not be conformed to the world but be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you may discern what is the will of God" (Romans 12:2).

Reading the scriptures helps us understand God's will for our lives.
Many are constantly asking what is God's will for me. If you will only take the time to read the scriptures then you will clearly know God's will for you. It is true God uses thatose that are readers. for expounding and explaining are part of the ministers duties. God uses those that are readers! If you are a reader God will use you!

If you read the scriptures you will have direction and confidence to serve him, in church and in the world as a living active witness. A person who is a witness is first a reader for the scriptures unlock confidence thus making his witness authentic and real.

There is Ministry that comes from reading the Scriptures.
Reading will make you a confident witness. You'll have knowledge that will let your light shine. and the reaon is this the light has first shined in you. God has spoken to you and that working of his word provids the confidence needed to be a light in a dark world. You'll have answers that others wont have and be confident to engage with folks that others find unapproachable.

In reading lies illumination
How he made known to me the mystery (Ephesians 1:9).
The Lord has yet more truth to break forth out of his word. Luther and Calvin were great and shining lights in their times, yet they penetrated not into the whole counsel of God; but were they now living would be willing to embrace more light, as that which they had first recieved. I beseech you to remember it- is is as an article of your church covenant that you be ready to receive whatever truth is made known to you from the written word (Rev John Robertson. Puritan leader).

NOTES:
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: (Ephesians 1;17).

He taught in their synagogues and was glorified by everyone. 16Then Jesus came toNazareth, where He had been brought up. As was His custom, He entered the synagogue onthe Sabbath. And when He stood up to read,17the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. Unrolling it, He found the place where it was written:… (Luke 4:16).

Reading the criptures should be both a private and a public practice. reading in public is a biblical exercise. Reading should be carried out in a respectful manner and scriptures should not be read as something to use to get to the main point. The mann point is the scriptures. and in the scriptures themselves the reader should seek revelation and insight from the Spirit of God who alone can open up what’s written and illuminate ones soul and mind.

When man preaches he should preach like a prince in the pulpit and when he reads scripture he should read the oracles like a scholar. Expounding and disecting, revealing and unlocking key principles points and truths. Care should be taken in revealing text, context and pretext.

Careful reading leads to magnifcant teaching. the best teachers and at their best great readers. great readers make the best leaders too. leadership comes from understanding what is read. and great leadership comes from being able to apply what is read. In reading lies wisdom and in wisdom lies understanding.

As one reads scripture so the Spirit can speak through the reader. This takes a sincere respect for God’s word and the appropriation of it in ones daily study.

The Believer and Reading The Scriptures (1)

THE BELIEVERS BIBLE STUDY
Stewards of The Mysteries of God
Reading The Scripture
By Paul B Thomas

Topic: The Believer and Reading there Scriptures.
Scripture Reading: (Ephesians 1:17).
Purpose: Discover the purpose and value of reading scriptures constantly. Reading is a habit everyone ought to develop. All successful men read daily all successful teachers and preachers study what is read daily. All successful believers become what they read daily.

1.What did Jesus say to the Jews concerning the scriptures
Search the scriptures for in them ye think they have eternal life; and they are which testify of me (John 5:39).

2.Is the whole volume of the bible about Jesus
Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God (Hebrews 10:7 Psalm 40:7).

3 For what the Berean’s commended?
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so (Acts 17:11).

4.How should we study the scriptures?
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).

5.How should a believer progress in one’s knowledge?
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.(Hebrews 5:12,13,13).

6.What is the comparison between believers using milk and teachers building an understanding of scriptures.
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.  For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat (Hebrews 5:13-14).

7.How are we to go on unto perfection?
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,  Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit (Hebrews 6:1,2,3).

8.How are we to progress into maturity?
But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak (Hebrews 6:9).

9.How are we to inherit the promises, the things that accompany salvation?
That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (Hebrews 6:12).

10.What is the immutability of his counsel?
Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: (Hebrews 6:17).

11.What is impossible for God to do?
That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: (Hebrews 6:18).

12.What does our Hope in Christ do?
Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; (Hebrews 6:19).

13.Explain the importance of comparing scripture with scripture to get correct understanding of its meaning?
And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction (2 Peter 3,15,16).

14. Why is it important to have the Holy Ghost to help us understand scripture?
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.  (1 Cor 2;10-12).

15.Can the natural mind of the carnal man understand scriptures?
B
ut the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Cor 2:14).

15. How are we to seek the treasures of Gods’ word?
Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God (Proverbs 2:3-5).

16.What benefit is there in reading
And that from a child thou hast known the Holy Scriptures which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in  Christ Jesus  (2 Timothy 3;15).

NOTES:  Today many are into entertainment reading, they read what is amusing and news breaking, scandalous and  worldly. Confession and repentance must be the consequences  of devotional reading (Charles Coulson) Our devotional reading should be long term, as we aim for total transformation over a period of time, hence it must become a discipline and not a quick fix or quick read or a momentary habit that becomes customary. Total transformation is possible with daily heart seeking devotional reading. Readers make Leaders. To be a great leader one must be a great book lover. A reader of scriptures a reader of history and legacies. In reading lies knowledge and in knowledge lies wisdom. Wise leaders lead with wisdom. the knowledge of God his laws and his kingdom guides them. Readers study greatness and their Great God and Savior Jesus Christ. No man can be great without following the one who gave us the greatest of all books, his life story, his legacy, the Bible!

So Philip ran up and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked. How can I,” he said, “unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. (Acts 8:230). The Eunich was seeking the scriptures, Phillip was sent by the Spirit of the Lord to help him understand scriptures. It is our duty as ministers off the gospel to help others who are seeking scripture to find their salvation in Christ. This one encounter led to the millions that have been saved in Africa Today.

Questions to Consider: What is my daily reading pattern?  We can listen to YouTube preaching, but reading allows you to form your own views and also allows the Holy Ghost to illuminate and uncover truth specifically to you. Reading requires  your mind to dig deep. Hence reading is more beneficial than watching media. Reading is educative and prooductive. reading idiscip[lines the mind and expands it. Readers are seekers. How readest thou (Luke 10;26. Acts).

The Family Table

THE BELIEVERS BIBLE STUDY
Stewards of The Mysteries of God
# The Family Table:

Scripture:
When one of those who reclined at table with him heard these things, he said to him, “Blessed is everyone who will eat bread in the kingdom of God!” But he said to him, “A man once gave a great banquet and invited many. And at the time for the banquet he sent his servant to say to those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’ But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. Please have me excused.’ And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to examine them. Please have me excused.’ (Luke 14:14-24)

INTRODUCTION:
Building a Godly family. The table is an important place in scripture. David Brought Mephosheth to the table. Jesus last supper was around the table. The best know psalm psalm 23 tells us thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.

1.The family table is a place of eating and bible study
In the above scripture we see Jesus reclining at the table and teaching his disciples. The parable of the Guests (Luke 14:7-15). But when you host a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind, 14and you will be blessed. Since they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.” 15When one of those reclining with Him heard this, he said to Jesus, “Blessed is everyone who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.”…

2,The family Table the place of instructions
In business we have the negotiating table where two individuals sit and discuss the terms and conditions of business. Similarly the home must have its place and time for instruction, reflection and devotion. This is family building time. The discipline of the family table is essential for building children of character, there they learn the values of family togetherness a lesson that will serve them well in later life when they themselves will have their own wives and children.

The second parable Jesus taught at the Table. The parable of the Banquet Luke 14:15-24) When one of those reclining with Him heard this, he said to Jesus, “Blessed is everyone who will eat at the feastc in the kingdom of God.”But Jesus replied, “A certain man prepared a great banquet and invited many guests. When it was time for the banquet, he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready. But one after another they all began to make excuses. The first one said, ‘I have bought a field, and I need to go see it. Please excuse me.’ Another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to try them out. Please excuse me.’Still another said, ‘I have married a wife, so I cannot come. ’The servant returned and reported all this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the city, and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame. ’‘Sir,’ the servant replied, ‘what you ordered has been done, and there is still room. ’So the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedges and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full For I tell you, not one of those men who were invited will taste my banquet.’ ”

3.The family table is a place of covenant
For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night He was betrayed, took bread, 24and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me (1 Cor 11:24).

4.The family table is a place of remembrance
This do in remembrance of me (1 Cor 11:25).
In the above scripture we remember the death burial of the Lord Jesus. this is why its important to have communion or the Lord s supper in our fellowship. Secondly its important to have a daily table at home so that we too can reflect on the ‘provisions’ of the Lord and reflect on his goodness in supplying our daily needs and daily bread.

5.The family table is a place of unity
When Paul speaks of the church “coming together,” or “assembling as a church,” he is not primarily talking about a morning service but a gathering around the table,

6.The family table is a place for service
Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will dress himself for service and have them recline at table, and he will come and serve them. (Luke 12:37)

7.The Lord’s table The family table.
It is the family of kings, its the kings table. where kings dine and fellowship.Jesus used the table to instruct his disciples regarding his day. The communion table as we know it, where the Lord taught his twelve about his death and resurrection. secrets only the closest in his family knew. Today folks don’t use the table to sit around and enjoy a family meal together. we sit around the Tv. My suggestions here are for a more intimate family. Where we can chat and discuss the more important things of life. where fathers can set the agenda and give instructions for the day. Where we learn to value the hands of the one who prepared our food and where we learn to share our deepest concerns and heartfelt love. all these things we will loose if we do not have the family table

NOTES

PRACTICAL reasons why we should sit around the table
Research was done by the BBC reveals that children and teenagers who regularly sit down for meals with others, and a healthier diet, including more fruits, vegetables, and nutrients. for example. If we are alone we tend to binge but when we are in the company of others we curtail our habits. so for this reason alone the family meal time is profitable. Secondly, children also learn how to eat well and socialize by observing others at the table. adults can play the role model around the table, its a place where children learn the habits of their parents which can pay dividends later in life as they deal with business people around the table and how they interact with others socially and at business meals. (The surprising benefits of eating together – BBC Food)

The table is a place of intimacy and family. Folks go out together to the city and find a cafe store where they can sit and chat, the time together around the table allows us to share our stories, rehearse our memories, enjoy each other and laugh together, there’s nothing like the table. I remember as a child the times we had our daily family meals at the table. we had no distractions like the television or video, what gave us great satisfaction was the conversations we had together. It brought unity, built discipline and taught us manners and respect for others. It gave us the value of togetherness as a family. There’s nothing like the family table.

We went to the house of the Lord the local church three times on a Sunday and two to three times in the weekday. As a child yet I wanted to play and go up the mountains nearby but the times of fellowship at the church stay in my mind and heart to this day. The songs I sang over and over again stay fresh in my mind years later they bring back wonderful memories. the scriptures we learned the stories we hared of Samson and David and the giant, Joseph and his dreams, Jesus and his miracles gave me faith yes faith to believe incredible things. I loved the family table.

The disciples gathered on the first day of the week around the table
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. (Acts 20:7).I’m glad Jesus brought me to the table. I’m thinking of the scripture in Son of Solomon. ‘He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.’ (Song of Solomon 2:4). I’m convinced its time to get back to the table where we can eat like kings fellowship like kings and talk like kings. Mephibosheth found his place at the kings table and its there too we can receive a personal revelation of the love of the Lord.

The Gifts and Callings

THE BELIEVERS BIBLE STUDY
Stewards of The mysteries of God
#The Gifts and Callings.
by Paul B Thomas

Topic: The Gifts and Callings
Scripture Reading: Ephesians 4:11 Romans 12:6-8  1Cor 12  1Cor 14.
Purpose: To discover the gifts that people have and the callings that leadership possess in the church today as outlined and given in the New Testament

1.The Gifts and Ministries in the Church

Wherefore he saith. When he ascended up on high he led captivity captive and gave gifts to men  (Ephesians 4:9).

2. Congregational Gifts

We have different gifts according to the grace given us. If one’s gift is prophecy, let him use it in proportion to his faith; if it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is giving, let him give generously; if it is leading, let him lead with diligence; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully. (Romans 12;6-8).

3.Governmental Gifts

Gifts men are. And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, (Ephesians 4:11).

4. Charismatic Gifts

For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. (1 Cor 4;8-11)

5.Who are the Five Fold Ministries?

And he gave some apostles and some prophets and some evangelists and some pastors and teachers (Ephesians 4:11).

6.The Purpose of the Five Fold Ministries

His   intention  was  the  perfecting  and  the  full equipping  of the Saints   (his   consecrated  saints) that they  should  do  the  work  of  ministry towards  building up Christ’s body  the  church) Ephesians 4;12 AMP

7.Leaders with Special gifts and Callings

Why is it that  he  gives us special abilities to do certain things  best. It is that God’s people will be  equipped  to do the work for him    building  up the church   the    body   of  Christ to a position  of  strength  and maturity  (L.BIBLE).

8.The Purpose of The Five Fold Ministry Gifts

To   prepare God’s  people for works  of  service  so that  the body  of  Christ  may be built  up  (NIV).

9.The Purpose of the Supportive or Congregational Ministry

I Corinthians 12:28 (emphasis added) – “And God has set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then healings, HELPS, governments, diversities of tongues.”

9.The body is many members each as important as the other

The apostle is anointed, equipped and authorized by the Lord to restore the working of the two joints of the church. The joint of helps (1 Corinthians 12:28) and the joint of the five fold ministry. (Ephesians 4:11).

NOTES:

The gifts of the spirit are given to all.

Gifts men have or special endowments. These gifts fall into three categories. The voice Gifts, prophecy Tongues and Tongues for interpretation. The Power Gifts, Faith Miracles and Healings. Gifts of Revelation, Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge, Discernment of Spirits. The word ‘charismatic’ derives from the Greek charisma, ‘gift’, and plural form charismata, ‘gifts’. This is the term used in the biblical texts (see Rom 1:11; 5:15–16; 6:23; 11:29; 12:6; 1 Cor 1:7; 7:7; 12:4, 9, 28, 30–31; 2 Cor 1:11; 1 Tim 4:14; 2 Tim 1:6). Other Greek terms are used synonymously with charisma in the Pauline literature including: doma ‘gift’ (Eph 4:8), dōrea ‘gift’ (Eph 4:7; Rom 5:15), diakonia ‘service’ (1 Cor 12:5), energēma ‘activity’ (1 Cor 12:6), phanerōsis ‘manifestation’ (1 Cor 12:7), and pneumatikos ‘spiritual gift’ (1 Cor 12:1; 14:1). The apostle prophet pastor teacher and evangelist will use these gifts as a lifestyle, not just in church for they are anointed to teach preach and deliver with these gifts. that is they have a special use and anointing to use these gifts in full time service.

The Governmental gifts are given to Lead and Perfect the Church

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, (Ephesians 4:11). are given 'to Perfect the Saints for the Work of the Ministry'.. A. The word “perfecting” comes from the Greek word “Katartismos” and means the “complete- adjustment” or “to make ready.”

The congregational Gifts are talents and Ministries of the corporate  Church.
'Helps' is another word for suppooirtive or assistive ministries. In  Acts 27;14 we find the account of Paul on a voyage to Rome encoutered a great storm. 'But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon. And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive. And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat: Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.'  We find the word 'helps' in “undergirding the ship” synonyms: to brace up. beef up, fortify, strengthen. make strong or stronger. The gifts of helps therefore help brace up. beef up, fortify, strengthen. make strong or stronger.brace up. beef up, fortify, strengthen. make strong or stronger the church og Jesus Christ as they support the m,embers and leadership.

QUESTIONS:
1.What are the distinctive functions of the five fold ministry?
2.How are they different from the congregational ministries?
3.Name some of the congregational Ministries.
4. What is the purpose of these congregational ministries?
5. What charismatic gifts have you?
6. What does Paul tell us about our attitude to these gifts should be (1 Cor 12;1)

Baptism in the name of Jesus

THE BELIEVERS BIBLE STUDY

#Baptism in the name of Jesus
by Paul B Thomas

Topic:
Baptism in The Name of Jesus
Scripture Reading: John 3:5
Purpose: To reveal the biblical practice of remissions on sins in the name of Jesus in the New Testament

NOTES:

HISTORIAL SUMMARY OF BAPTISM IN JESUS NAME

Britannica Encyclopedia, 11th Edition, Volume 3, page 365 – Baptism was changed from the name of Jesus to words Father, Son & Holy Ghost in 2nd Century.Canney Encyclopedia of Religion, page 53 – The early church baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus until the second century.Hastings Encyclopedia of Religion, Volume 2 – Christian baptism was administered using the words, "in the name of Jesus." page 377. Baptism was always in the name of Jesus until time of Justin Martyr, page 389.Catholic Encyclopedia, Volume 2, page 263 – Here the authors acknowledged that the baptismal formula was changed by their church. "The baptismal formula was changed from the name of Jesus Christ to the words Father, Son, and Holy Spirit by the Catholic Church in the second century." (The Catholic Encyclopedia, Volume II, page 263:).Secondly, The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. 1923, New Testament Studies Number 5.The Lord's Command To Baptize An Historical Critical Investigation by Bernard Henry Cuneo, page 27 states: "The passages in Acts and the Letters of St. Paul. These passages seem to point to the earliest form as baptism in the name of the Lord."Cardinal Catholic Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger makes this confession as to the origin of the chief Trinity text of Matthew 28:19 saying: writes "The basic form of our (Matthew 28:19 Trinitarian) profession of faith took shape during the course of the second and third centuries in connection with the ceremony of baptism. So far as its place of origin is concerned, the text (Matthew 28:19) came from the city of Rome."Finally, The Jerusalem Bible, a scholarly Catholic work, states: "It may be that this formula, (Triune Matthew 28:19), so far as the fullness of its expression is concerned, is a reflection of the (Man-made) liturgical usage established later in the primitive (Catholic) community. It will be remembered that Acts speaks of baptizing "in the name of Jesus" (See Ask Catholic)Schaff – Herzog Religious Encyclopedia, Volume 1, page 435: – The New Testament knows only the baptism in the name of Jesus.Hastings Dictionary of Bible, page 88: – It must be acknowledged that the three fold name of Matthew 28:19 does not appear to have been used by the primitive church, but rather in the name of Jesus, Jesus Christ or Lord Jesus. If we want to experience salvation in its fullest then we should follow scriptures and obey Jesus. He alone is the author of salvation and he alone is salvation. The Lord has become my light and my salvation. this tells us clearly that the LORD becomes ones salvation when he 1. takes on the name of the family that bear that name and secondly when the father that has this name  baptises us. It is clear Jesus is our father and he alone baptises us when we call on his name. Some have taken the phrase call on his name to mean simply to call pour to Jesus, friends this is not true. many blasphemes use the name every day flippantly, this does not save them. God does not here the unbeliever. Only when a man obeys the lord and follows his command to be baptised does one experience the salvation that comes for the lord. arise and be baptised calling on the name of the Lord. This name is Jesus.

Questions for consideration:1.Should we baptize in Jesus’ name or in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit?. 2.Why should we baptise in the name of Jesus? 3. Name three examples of people who in the book of acts were baptised in Jesus name?4. What is the significance of the Name of Jesus in Baptism 5. Name  some of the scenarios of persecution that came to the apostles for preaching in the name of Jesus. For Further reading:

The New Birth

THE BELIEVERS BIBLE STUDY
BY PAUL B THOMAS

STEWARDS OF THE MYSTERIES OF GOD
#01 BORN OF WATER AND SPIRIT

Topic: Born of water and Spirit
Scripture Reading: (John 3:5).
Purpose: Understanding the true gospel in a world full of fake and false alternative gospels.

A MINI COURSE
Introduction: A Continuation of our understanding of the new birth. What is salvation and how do we receive it?

1.What is born of water and spiritExcept a man be born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven (John 3:5).

2.Can I be saved by saying confessing that Jesus is Lord?Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. (1 Cor 12:3).

3.Can we be saved just by having the Holy Ghost? He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. (Mark 16:16).

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. (Romans 8:9-11).

5.How does water save me?The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: (1 Peter 3:21). Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? (Acts 6:3).

6.Is water baptism figurative of Jesus burial?Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead (Col 2:12)

7.Is the Holy Ghost baptism figurative of Christ’s resurrection? And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. (1 Cor 15:17).

8.Do I need the Holy Ghost?Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (1 Cor 12:13)

And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. (1 Cor 15:17).

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.(Romans 8:11).

9.Did Paul preach this gospel of death burial and resurrection?

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. (1 Cor 15;1).

10.What did Paul say this gospel was?

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

(1 Cor 15:3,4).

Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God;  (1 Cor 15;12-15).

11.What did Paul preach?

These men do show us the way of salvation (Acts  ).

12.What is the first step to salvation?

If thou canst confess with thy mouth believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead

(That's what Paul was talking about in the earlier quoted scriptures) thou shalt be saved (Rom 10:9).

13.What is the next step?

And he (Paul) said unto them unto what them were the baptised? and they said unto John’s baptism. then said Paul John verily baptised with the baptism unto repentance... and when they heard this they were baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus. (Acts 19:3-5).

NOTES

The new birth is more than just believing. The devils believe and tremble (JAMES) Does this mean that there are devils in heaven? No! Believing is simply the first step, one believes in Jesus believes in his words and because he believes he takes the necessary  steps to do the things that JESUS COMMANDED. Like here being born of water and Spirit that is a command. Being born of water and spirit means that a man or woman, is baptised in water and spirit. The baptism in water is a death or symbolic of Christs death, the resurrection or coming out of the watery grave is symbolic of Christ's resurrection, we die with him and therefore we shall be rise with him (Read romans 6). Jesus showed us this pattern by himself dying and rising again. If we follow hi we shall be like him

Receiving the Holy Ghost

THE BELIEVERS BIBLE STUDYTOPIC:
Receiving the Holy Ghost
TEXT. Have ye received since ye believed (Acts 19:2-4)

1.Have ye RECEIVED since ye believed? He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. (Acts 19:2-4)2.The Holy Ghost is givn to the Seekers not the self righteousAnd, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. ( Luke 24:49).

3.Its Your Mouth open it and let God fill it.And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain. (Job 29:23)NOTESThe Holy Ghost is given upon salvation that is when a man is born of water and Spirit, baptised in eater and Spirit (John 3:5).Most folks that have been baptised in water having also received the Holy Ghost. In case you have not received the Holy Ghost here are some guidelines of helps to assist you in understanding the requirement of this infilling or baptism. There are tow schools of thought on baptism, one is that a person must be holy before they can receive the Holy Ghost the other is that receiving the Holy Ghost is a matter of grace. Now one may be holy and yet have pride in their life. further holiness does not guarantee that one can walk in the Spirit,

If one was holy then why have the Holy Ghost, seeing that he already is holy?It is the Holy Ghost that makes us holy and no one an receive the Holy Ghost without first receiving the Holy Ghost. similarly one cannot bear the fruits of the Spirit without first receiving the Spirit. so trying to be right before you ask God to fill you with his Spirit is a misnomer.

We cannot get right with God without the Holy Ghost. therefore we should cease to get right with God in the flesh and rather get right with him by submitting to him in humility and dependency. Here's another point one cannot perceive that he or she is right with God simply because he or she speaks in tongues. tongues is a gift. In the new testament Ananias and Sapphira had the Spirit but lied to the Spirit the result death came to them from the Lord.

How Should We Prepare?Bring forth fruits meet for repentance (Matthew 3:8). This was a requirement under John baptism and is still a condition today, conviction is the work of the Holy Spirit not man. He convicts us of sin. (John 16:8). Its only as you are under conviction of your sins do you begin to understand the workings of the Lord in your life. this conviction is  real. When Cornelius received a visit from an angel he said they prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God Acts 10:4) this was how he knew what to say to Saul that led to Saul's conversation. Create a prayer memorial before the Lord, these then are the essentials that prepare us for baptism in the Holy Ghost.Lift up your voice. God uses your vocal chords and vocal organs. so begin to get right with the Lord then praise him, praise him till the spirit begins to move on you as he does you will know that he is preparing you too receive from him his Holy Spirit.Paul B ThomasAuthor Bible Belt RevivalistLife Evangelist and Bible TeacherTwitter: Imagebreakers

ECONOMIC PROSPERITY

General Subject
Stewards of The Mysteries of God
#12 Economic Prosperity
Reading Psalm 35;27

Topic: Economic ProsperityScripture Reading: Matthew 16:15,16)Purpose: Understanding God’s eternal wealth systemBy Paul B Thomas

A MINI COURSE

Introduction:

1.“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you” (Luke 6:38).

2. “That I may cause those who love me to inherit wealth, that I may fill their treasuries” (Proverbs 8:21)

3. He that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness; Being enriched in everything to all bountifulness. (2 Corinthians 9:10-11)

4. Wealth comes to further God's Cause.

let them shout for joy and be glad and favor my righteous cause, let them say continually. Let the Lord be magnified which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant (Psalm 35;27).

5.Wealth comes by keeping God's covenant

I you are willing and obedient you will eat of the good of the land (Isaiah 1;19).

6. Wealth comes by being industrious.

A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest - and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man (Proverbs 24:33 - 34). Proverbs 10:4– “A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.” Also, Proverbs 12:11– “Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits lacks sense.”

7. True wealth comes to those whose priority is righteousness firstEcclesiastes 5:10“He who loves money will not be satisfied with money” Proverbs 10:22– “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.

8. Wealth comes to those who give to the LordGivers become wealth recievers, Proverbs 19:17– “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed.”

9. Wealth does not come by work aloneWealth comes by being financially astute. We have sown much and bring in little, ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you. but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put into a bag of holes (Haggai 1;6).

10. God is the source of all wealth. The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. (Proverbs 10;22).

NOTES

Wealthy is not worldly and poverty is not godly. Money does make one a sinner. Sin makes one a sinner. Prosperity is Gods will. Prosperity is having enough to meet our own needs and meet the needs of others. Prosperity put a man in control of his daily lifestyle habits and destiny. Poverty takes away this right. Poverty makes  man a slave. Money enables us to do far more in the kingdom and take the gospel to the world just as Jesus intended. Money is not why we preach money helps us preach. The law of Giving and Receiving “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you” (Luke 6:38).

For further Study:

Questions to Consider: 1. What are the traps of poverty. How many missionaries can you support when you are broke. 3. How can you feed your family and see to their needs if God does not bless you. 4. Name five ways god blesses his people. 5. Earning money and yet squandering it is displeasing to God no matter how hard one works. Hard work must accompany wisdom. Read proverbs and what god says on keeping wealth.
