The Place For Compassion in the Ministry
Apostolic barrier Breakers
I sat where they sat (Ezekiel 3;15).
EzekieL ‘Strength of GOD’ and strong he was, He went to Tel Abib and sat where the people sat for seven days in silence. To learn and discover their ways. Before he could preach and warn he had to perfect the Word in him. It is easy for the preacher to say what’s on his mind instantaneously and in quick response, just take a look at Facebook many are quick to right what they see as wrong yet will not take the time to sit and wait in order to understand and connect to those to whom he is sent.
Ezekiel was sit where they sat in order to learn about them what he did not know. Oh how easy it is to be quick to preach too yet slow to consider and show respect or love. Many shut their eyes yet open wide their lips. Its easier to hurt rather than connect and restore. its easier to defend ones faith than win a soul. they indulge in sever truth telling as if its a medal to display. forgetting that the master on the cross displayed love that won that a world not a sermon. Some never sweeten their medicine, but give out a heavy dose even if it kills their contact. the fact that they said it as it is, qualities them as apostolic or does it?
The Lord dealt kindly with others. He got the woman at the well to ask for the water of life, He did not focus on her adulterous affairs but rather sat where she say and met he need. He won Zachaeus by sitting at his home, His kindness won the lost, his graciousness attracted the hungry. Kindness is greater than cleverness or genius. LOVE bigger than knowledge of scriptures and possessing the title of preacher.
Lets not judge others based on their hair style, or lack of it. Lets not fashion our message or approach based on the fact that others are so unlike us and don’t believe exactly what we believe. Believing in a truth does not make you more apostolic than me, its love and compassion that reveals your true status, not your collar or pin stripe suite. My bear does not make me less apostolic neither does it make me less holy. in fact the most critical often are the least approachable, because they pride themselves on a dress code but neglect the compassion code to their detriment.
Jesus reached individuals as souls not criminals. he did not preach at them, he preached as one of them, he did not open their wounds and make their wounds bigger rather he gave them compassion and revealed the love of God to them.
Before we condemn the man lets put ourselves in their place. better still condemn him not. rather give his Jesus
PAUL
Every winner finds a barrier between him and the finish line. The barrier be it a wall or mountain exists to present to you the requirement’s for greatness. The requirements have to be discovered, you have to hit a brick wall, you have to get writers block, you have to experience the point of quitting. Only then can we see what is required of a winner. Its at this point you have to educate yourself with information others know not of, then you can do what others cannot do. You have to discover what separates you from failure and connects you to success.
Jesus was at the finish line, he had to fight a battle no one else could fight and no one else could win, a fist of its kind, no one else had arrived at this point before, no one else could, take on this task, yet he could and the scriptures tells us that “he went one step further’ Matthew 26:39)
Ask yourself what’s my limit today, what’s my brick wall?
Whats my next step?
What steps have I yet to take that have not taken before?
Maybe you’ll have to pray like Jabez, ‘God enlarge my steps!’.
Maybe you have to be enlarged before God enlarges your steps. enlarges to work with folks you would not normally work with. Enlarged to associate and keep company with those of different doctrine yet they too, like you, have a heart after God. It could be that the Lord wants you to set aside your preconceived prejudices to those of other denominations and start touching them with your heart and soul. Peer had to be enlarged before the Lord could use him to be an apostle to the gentiles, what he thought was untouchable and unholy God had to show him that it was he who had to reach them. (Acts 10;28)….the things commanded to him by God (v33). Could it be that our own prejudice is hindering the favor of God on our own lives? Could it be that our own unwillingness to work with brethren outside of your denomination is hindering your greatest day in ministry? God looks for humility and if its not to be found then we ourselves hinder the work of the Lord done first in us.No amount of praying for enlargement can make God promote us unless we first have the humility to obey him. Don’t hinder your prayers! Obey the Lord, not man.
Being brought up as an AOG in UK I have had the privilege of working and ministering in many different denominations preaching revivals and speaking on many topics yet my conviction which i have always made known is my faith in the one true Lord and the apostolic message, I even know some apostolic’s who think this is not possible yet i tell them I have credentials with charismatic and well as apostolic organisations and the Lord has granted me favor for which I’m eternally grateful to cross these walls and do his will.
Every occupation has its barriers. what you know about them separates you from those who trade in mediocrity and those who trade in greatness. Now take that one step more that is required to being yourself salvation and maybe others too. 2022 is dependent on you. If God finds you ready, he will choose you. you’re the candidate for enlargement and engage meant on another level with great men and big nations. There’s so much more for you to do. quit limiting yourself and obey God first

PULPIT CLEANUP
When Jesus saw Nathaniel approaching, he said of him, "Here is a true Israelite in whom there is no guile." (John 1:47)
The word "guile" is translated "deceit" in NASB. "Covetous" in INT (Biblos Interlinear Bible). in English "guile." "Trickery" as in Matt 26:4. or "craft" as in a method they used to capture Jesus and put him to death. The word describes one who uses "methods" "craftiness" to lure his prey or again one whose trade "craft" or employment it is to lure use "the faith" as a means of personal gain and benefit. or one who uses religion to advance their own self interest.
Cares, Snares and The evil of Guile!
PULPIT CLEANUP.
Christianity, I prefer to say the faith once delivered as there is a difference between today's Christianity and the "faith once delivered." The faith of those of "the way" was in serving him, the Lord. Denial of yourself and taking up ones cross. Self had died, self must die. Selfish ambition personal ideals of success must die for it in in death we find our life and that life is most characterised by us revealing him. The gain we have then is Christlikeness and eternal life.
The word "Guile in the Greek means "deceit" "bait" or "snare." its what happens when we are lulled by the media and Hollywood into a state where we think that we too have to be like the world in order to be seen as a success. Its when we embrace their ideas, "guile" and smile that we begin to contaminate our core being.
I saw a young preacher the other day, he had come to UK and was enjoying it too. He was enjoying the attention and played to the crowd, he boasted of his Lamborghini and how a teacher once told him that an entire class of children wanted to be a prophet like him when they grew up. He strutted the platform, arrogantly commanded folks to come forward, he had an air of brazenness that was rooted in arrogance.
Since when have we the right to talk abruptly and disrespectfully to folks under the disguise of authority? Success, style, pulpit theatrics, showmanship, shouting, ranting and raving, trademarks of the carnal, the self motivated and the self proclaimed prophet, luring young people into performance preaching, entertainment church, no humility and all self. The anointing is not arrogant or rude or self promoting ( 1Cor 14). If we have not love we are a sounding cymbal. Go home preacher learn respect and what it means to love others first then when self has been conquered enter the pulpit.
As Charles Spurgeon states, "Depart from evil,".. Go away from it. Not merely take your hands off but yourself off... "seek peace".. not merely prefer it, but with zeal and care promote it."
When I see arrogance in the pulpit its because of "Guile" in a man's soul. When I see rage in the pulpit and pastors getting ticked off with members and correcting them unnecessarily in public, its because of anger in the soul that they have contacted and contracted from the world. A spirit has got on them, a spirit of "guile" and they know it not. Preacher, don't being your demons to church.
Guile is a contractual disease. As a young revival preacher in America in the nineties, my friend who is my Pastor in US told me "Paul, there are men who when they come to America go to certain cities and leave as a different person. There are spirits in cities that as younger them that spirit there, enters you. You can go to Philadelphia or California and go home different. I've seen preachers who go to America the next minute they are in UK making up multiple offerings that let for twenty minutes, "We need ten people to give one thousand pound we need ten people to give five hundred.. " they are "beguiled" by wandering spirits, easily seduced and swayed by glitz and the gold and some the girls too.
Who has "beguiled" you? said Paul, "bewitched" you, "put a spell on you!" (Gal 3:1) Beware of seducing spirits that reside in uncommon places that attract your soul even when you have Godly intentions in it. As men and missionaries we must go with pure intentions not intentions that suggest we go there for personal gain. If you are going to going a foreign country, go there for God! Yes God, not for gold or glitz, but God.
Jesus saw Nathaniel under a fig tree, not a city, as I wondered what then is the significance of the fig tree? Remember that when Adam and Eve sinned, they used the leaves of the fig tree to cover up their nakedness (Gen 3:7). Just like men who used the ministry to cover up theirs. But Nathaniel was found by Jesus by the fig tree. God help us to be found by the fig tree. I need that covering, I need don't you! God find me in that place where I realise that I'm exposed without your covering, fnd me at the fig tree.
In him was no guile!
My final point, I judge myself in this. God has been showing me that "public performance is no cover up for a mind that is far from God." Let me explain. I noticed that over a few weeks I began to think more and more on my troubles when we were in praise and worship. God got my attention when I realised that God knew my heart and that although I had lifted hands and sang the words of the songs, my problems and not God was the thing that was really on my mind. Yes "guile" was at work in me. I repented and decided to worship God with my mind as wells my soul. Now i'm enjoying church better. I go to church for one thing to worship him, If I'm preaching its to exalt him. Self can't live in pew or pulpit. self must die!
PRAY WITH ME: What was said about Nathaniel Lord, I would love to hear you say that about me. "In him was no guile" Create in me a clean heart Lord and renew a right spirit within me!"
Amen.

TEAR YOUR MANTLE...
EZRA 9:1-9). Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites. For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass. And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down astonished. Then were assembled unto me every one that trembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of the transgression of those that had been carried away; and I sat astonished until the evening sacrifice.
Ezra's Prayer of Confession.
And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the LORD my God, And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens. Since the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass unto this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this day.
And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage. For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem (Ezra 9:1-9).
The people the PRIESTS and the LEVITES had not separated themselves from mixing with those of other lands and so had increased in abominations before the Lord. The once Holy race had "intermingled" and the leaders had been the first to go astray from the word of the Lord.
I believe this scripture has much to teach us today about our state as a church and our wanderings as leaders, how we are to approach it, conduct ourselves to get out of it and so get revival out of it. so that God will get all glory in it. my key emphasis is this. Its time to TEAR YOUR MANTLE.
1.My first attention is drawn to verse three, "When I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down astonished" (v3) in the NA version it states "appalled." We have become desensitized with sin, so much so that its not sin any more its just news.in fact we don't use that word "sin" now. Here's the acid test if our generations sin does not make us "alarmed" then maybe we are the ones who need a revelation of holiness not our generation. Ezra said, I wrent my mantle, O Lord help us here. O how we love to use our mantle, talk about how anointed we are, how called we are, how set we are as God's man God's woman. Here the man of God tore his mantle.
Your title means nothing unless you have power with God. I rather have a generation come to God than ever have a MANTLE that hinders me from being a revival in someone’s life
Friend if we are going to have revival we have to let go of how good we can preach or how orderly we can lead a service, how organized our preaching is now excellent our praise and worship team is. If we want mercy in the house we have to let it all God for the sake of revival. Our performance don't cut it with God. God give me revival!
Your mantle is getting in the way of God's glory. Its a substitute glory. You're leaning on you title and status, get rid of it. now let's see how you worship God!
Revival is not about how many folks I can lay hands on, pray for or see slain in the Spirit, no a thousand times no revival is about the man of God stepping down tearing his garment and humbling himself before the Lord. When this takes place, revival comes to the house.
Look at what it says here.. and When I heard this matter I tore my garment and my robe and pulled some of the hair from my head and my beard and sat down APPALLED. THEN... THEN... THEN...EVERYONE who trembled at the words of God on account of the unfaithfulness of the exiles GATHERED to me. (v4).
Church of the troubled, the bothered, the appalled. Those who tremble at God's words, O different church! talk about blessed church this is bothered church, where the disgusted, busted and the bothered gather to weep for the sins of the city.
And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the LORD my God, And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee,(V5,6)
Ashamed1 do we blush at the worlds sins or do we wink? Do we blush at our own sins of do we overlook them?
These signs are nothing like the characteristics of today's church. where we have Joy, where the burdens are given to the Lord, where there's no embarrassment or guilt, or contrition in our prayers, or moaning over the sins of our generation. I'm not saying church should have these things continually but I do believe its an "Ezra season" right now. There's too much MIXTURE in the church (v). and too much hate in the city.
2. Then everyone who trembled at the words of the Lord. (4).
Here we have two elements of revival. If man's condition makes us alarmed then God's words should make us tremble. We need the prophetic voice back in the church today. I remember when the word of God made me shake, do you! As a child I go to read scriptures in the pulpit and each word, made me pause, tears would form in my eyes and by the time I got to verse three, I had to wipe them away because I couldn't see the page.
My heart is heavy my friend, there are no Ezras in the house, today. When was the last time did God's word make you tremble!
Often its in the reading of it that refreshing comes. I like to say this, ‘What God says as God is more important than what Paul Thomas says as a preacher, that's why I like to read scripture in the pulpit. I like to read it slowly and thoughtfully. If there's a message in it for me God will quicken his word to my soul and something will move. So friend take the time to read God's word slowly, thoughtfully and carefully.
3. But at the evening offering I arose from my humiliation, even with my garment and my torn robe and I fell on my knees and stretched out my hands to the Lord my God and said I am ashamed and embarrassed to lift up my face to thee o God. (v5,6) since the days of our fathers we have been in great guilt.... BUT NOW FOR A BRIEF MOMENT Grace has been shown to leave us an escaped remnant and to give us a PEG IN A HOLY PLACE...
A brief moment GRACE has been given. so brief that we could miss it. yet so big an opportunity that if we don't see it our generation this generation could be forever bound by the "abominations" of the Idol worshipers we have in our lands (v1) GRACE. God help me get it! I need your grace today. Give us a PEG in a Holy Place, a revival in this place Wales, a revival in your city, your state, your nation. a PEG in a holy place... That God may enlighten our eyes and grant us a little reviving in our bondage.... (v8).
PRAYER: O God of Ezra My generation is in bondage but grant us a reviving. My generation is taken up with the things of man but today I will be taken up by the things of You. Today I tear up my garment, That which I've depended on to make things happen. I exchange my mantle for your glory. O God of Ezra turn my bondage into grace. O God of Ezra make me a peg in a Holy Place. Grant us reviving. in your name Jesus. Amen.
