God Notes #01
by Paul B Thomas

The One Name of The One Lord God

“And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.” (Zech 14:9).

I am convinced that Jesus is God as says the scriptures. If Jesus is not God then who is the God who will save me and become my redeemer.

God is God and there is none after him or before him. God is one and needs not another to be man’s saviour, redeemer, voice or messenger.

God is one. The Ten Commandments reveal that the Lord is God. And over 6000 times we are told that the “Lord is God” for example Deuteronomy 6:4. Hear O Israel the Lord our God is one Lord

The phrase. ‘Lord thy God’ reveals to us who it is that is God. The LORD The Lord he is God (Psalm 100:3). Thomas in the New Testament called JESUS ”My Lord and My God’ (John20:28) John called him ‘the True God’ (1 John 5:20). Titus called him ‘Our Great God and Saviour’ (Titus 2:13).

Every tongue shall confess that JESUS is Lord(.Philippians  2:11) Let’s take this seriously folks, the one who all one day confess is Jesus. All men will one confess Jesus to be God! That is what LORD means GOD! No other god will be confessed, man will not bow down to any other so called god, no matter what their faith or religious experience. All will bow down and acknowledge Jesus as God.

Whoever calls upon the NAME of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13). These scriptures clearly reveal that the “name” of him who is called the LORD God is Jesus. One day all will call him LORD meaning  Jehovah. All one day will confess him as God. Selah!

We know that “Lord” and “God” are titles but salvation is in the NAME why because thees only one being who has revealed deity. No other has walked with him and claimed to be ‘in him’ and know him as Jesus, In fact he said no other knows the Father but the Son and him to whom the Son will reveal.  ( John 14:11. Luke 10:22).

“I and the father are ONE” Jesus said. Not a one as some would have us believe like husband and wife. For it is possible for a husband to be present without his wife. But wherever Jesus was that’s where the Father was also. The Father is in me (John 10:30. John 14:10).  Again scripture tells us God was in Christ reconciling the World unto himself (2 Cor 5:19).

He said only what the Father said, he done only what the Father told him to do, he came to do the Fathers will all these things show us that he was so at one with the father that he was the Father. But why? so that we would know that the father is real. he came to reveal the Father. What other reason would there be for a thirty three year old to say only what he father says and do only what his Father tells him to do. No normal thirty three year old lives like that!

Except this man be himself the Father!

So the Lord came to reveal God! The Son came to reveal the Father and only he could. Here is the incredible truth, Jesus in the Greek means Jehovah which translated means ‘salvation’ again psalms tells us The LORD is my light and my salvation. (Psalm27:1) Jesus is salvation coming to us. Again God is my light and salvation it’s the same as saying JESUS is my Jehovah!

There is salvation in. No other name other than Jesus why? Jesus is our Jehovah Emmanuel ‘God’with is (Isaiah9:6).

Origin of the Trinity

It is not a word or or a concept or a doctrine of the early church as in Acts. Trinitarianism was not practiced by the Jews or the early Christians. The prophets did not declare a triune God neither did the apostles. The doctrine of the trinity is not the doctrine of the one true God and his church and as such must be deemed heresy by those who adhere to the apostles doctrine (Acts 2:42). The words ‘blessed trinity’ ‘Holy trinity’ and ‘trinity’ are NOT found in scripture therefore we can conclude that one who preaches truth should not use unbiblical words to define something not found in scripture.

The term “God the father” “God the Son” and “God the Holy Ghost” are not found in scripture. This reveals a key point in our discussion. God is not made up of three co-equal persons. The “Lord God” is God. He alone is God. Who is the Lord? The Lord he is God.

It’s Origins in Brief:

Augustine  In Sermon 90 on the New Testament says, “2. For hold this fast as a firm and settled truth, if you would continue Catholics, that God the Father begot God the Son without time, and made Him of a Virgin in time.” wikipedia

Tertullian, Lived in Carthage around 200 and was the first to write on Christianity in the LATIN language.  He gave us the English word  “trinity” from the Latin: trinitas).

His most important work is the Apologeticum, in defense of the Christians. Running it close must be Adversus Praxean, in which the doctrine of the Trinity comes into clear focus for the first time, in response to a heretic who was twisting the biblical balance between the persons of the Godhead Noddy guide to Tertullian

Praxeas was a Monarchian from Asia Minor who lived in the end of the 2nd century/beginning of the 3rd century. He believed in the unity of the Godhead and vehemently disagreed with any attempt at division of the personalities or personages of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in the Christian Church. He was opposed by Tertullian in his tract, Against Praxeas (Adversus Praxean) Wiki

Athanasius He defended the full divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ against the majority of the bishops who were Arian. Arianism denied the full divinity of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was a god, but not God. ANSWERS

The council of Nicea (235 AD) gave the church “trinitarianism.” (from ariansm) where Jesus Christ is God but Not GOD!

The New Catholic Encyclopedia 1967 “The formulation ‘one God in three persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century.”

Hastings Dictionary of the Bible.

1963, page 1015, says, “The Trinity… is not demonstrable by logic or by Scriptural proofs,…The term Trias was first used by Theophilus of Antioch (c AD 180), …(The term Trinity) is not found in Scripture.”

The HarperCollins Bible Dictionary Tells us, “The formal doctrine of the Trinity as it was defined by the great church councils of the fourth and fifth centuries is not to be found in the NT [New Testament]” (Paul Achtemeier, editor, 1996, “Trinity”). New

Bible Dictionary: “The term ‘Trinity’ is not itself found in the Bible. It was first used by Tertullian at the close of the 2nd century, but received wide currency [common use in intellectual discussion] and formal elucidation [clarification] only in the 4th and 5th centuries” (1996, “Trinity”).

In 265 AD, the Bishop of Rome Dionysius. complained about those who “divide and cut to pieces that most sacred doctrine of the Church of God, the Divine Monarchy, making it as if it were three powers and partitive substances and godheads three.” (Ken Raggio).

By 325 AD, the Roman Caesar Constantine had stopped persecuting the Church and had begun to endorse the new Trinitarian version of God. In the organizational meeting of the Roman Catholic Church at the Council of Nicaea (Italy), the NICEAN creed was formulated.

The Nicaean Creed 325 AD Propagated and instituted the Doctrine of the TRINITY. Published first in 325 AD!  “The new Trinitarian Roman Catholic Church of Rome demanded that all ONENESS, MONOTHEISTIC, or JESUS’ NAME believers be REBAPTIZED as TRINITARIANS in the titles Father, Son and Holy Spirit, or have all their property confiscated.” (Ken Raggio).

With the replacement truth that God was a trinity there followed an introduction of the Roman road to salvation. Another Roman creation. where followers could be baptized in a trinitarian formula that replaced the name of Jesus. SO NOW WE SEE THAT NOT ONLY WAS THE DOCTRINE OF GOD RECREATED BUT ALSO THE DOCTRINE OF SALVATION.

The Catholic Encyclopedia, II, page 263, says, “The baptismal formula was changed from the name of Jesus Christ to the words Father, Son, and Holy Spirit by the Catholic Church in the second century.”

Martin Luther, the German priest who initiated the Protestant Reformation, conceded, “It is indeed true that the name ‘Trinity’ is nowhere to be found in the Holy Scriptures, but has been conceived and invented by man” (reproduced in The Sermons of Martin Luther, John Lenker, editor, Vol. 3, 1988, p. 406).UCG.ORG

My Note: To this day one must be baptized into the name of the father son and holy Ghost (that line repeated over you as you are baptized in order to be considered a Catholic. The strange thing is this. Many charismatic and pentecostal denominations also require this..THE TRUTH in scripture no one was baptized this way. All who follows Jesus were baptized into the name.

Well isn’t that what Jesus said Go make disciples baptizing them in the in the “name” (singular one).

Grow in the Knowledge of God (#4)

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. (2 Peter 3:18).

Grow in the knowledge of God.

Why we should not fear the terror by day or the arrow by night. Man fears what he does not know. In understanding God man can hope in God. It is the knowledge of God that gives man hope in God. When man knows that God is greater than man and believes it to be so, This hope enables him to fear God more than man. His trust and confidence therefore becomes his strength in time of trouble and hope in times of uncertainty.

The holiness of God will drive out uncleanliness but it is the knowledge of God that will drive out all fear. Man by nature to a degree, fears those in power, we look at the news and seek what is being done by Governments to combat terrorism and one reason is this we rely on those who have power. We feel secure when we “know” we are protected. So it is with God, it is the knowledge of God that gives us a hope that is greater than the security of man. Our trust is in God and in the knowledge of God.

It is for this reason that Peter tells us to “Grow in the knowledge of God”

If God is infinite in power let us fear him for he is in power.

What can God do? He is at work all the time. Some folks think God doesn’t care about the worlds problems,  Many are asking God where are you in all this mess? Some have even quit on God because he seemingly has gone to sleep, but Friend God has never been out of the picture. he neither slumbers not sleeps.

There are things God is doing against our enemies that we will never know about. The work of his “unseen” hand.  There are atrocities planned that have never taken place, things that we will never know about, the only proof is that He kept our soul to this day. The work of his invisible hand. Some think that God has forgotten his creation and the evil tyrants of our day are having their way but not so. God is angry with the wicked every day (Psalm 7:11). There are things he does that we should not know about but sufficient it is to know God is angry with the wicked every day.

The work of his “unseen” hand.  There are atrocities planned that have never taken place, things that we will never know about, the only proof is that He kept our soul to this day. There are things he does that we should not know about but sufficient it is to know God is angry with the wicked every day.

The Lord cuts of the spirit of the princes (Psalm 76:12). He guides the hearts of the kings like a river, no king can make a decision without God being involved known or unknown God rules the hand of the king. (Prov 21;1). A king’s kingdom belongs to God and so does a kings world. while kingdoms seek to become superpowers we have a message for all powers. God alone has ALL POWER and in that we rest free from all fear.

The world is a work of his finger. What God creates man cannot destroy. Did he not create a new life for us. Are we not a new creation, what a miracle. In creation, God performed one miracle he spoke and it was so, in our salvation as his new creation he has performed many miracles, do we not see it? As blind, we are made to see, As dead, the dead in sin are raised again, without life he gives us his Spirit. Has he not saved us to the uttermost.

Man builds weapons to try and destroy nations, but God can remove the weapons, without any weapon. “He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.” (Psalm 46:9).

Man seeks to move nations out of their place, But God alone can move the earth out of its place (Job 9:6). and put man in his place. Man cannot even choose where he is born, he cannot choose his own color or nationality. how many hairs he has on his head or the lack of them either. God does all these things.

He asked Job, “Have you an arm like God or can you thunder with a voice like his” (Job 40:9).

Man makes a threat, God keeps a promise. When man threatens to destroy God’s creation, he take on God, what a fool! God himself will not be challenged. “He who sits in the heavens shall laugh he shall have them in derision” (Psalm 2). He can shut up mouths of lions. and give the timid the mouth of a lion, even if a timid man has nothing to say he can make him stand like a Daniel before them or stand untouched by a flame in the middle of a furnace. Furnace or Lion, our God gives us power.

Man threatens war have we forgot God is a man of war (Exodus 15:3) God can fight his enemies without fighting. He uses his arm to destroy them. Man’s arm must possess a missile to fire or a gun to trigger. But Gods arm is a missile.  He creates heavens and planets with his finger and and out devils too. (Psalm 8:3).

What we believe, we fear and we fear God!

Upon Nothing..

He hangeth the world on nothing (Job26:7).

Despite adversity loss, bad advice and extreme testing, Job knew the infinite wisdom of God. God’s wisdom works in our contradictions. When life offers us nothing it’s precisely nothing that God hangs everything on. Our destiny, our next blessing, our brightest tomorrow and our deliverance from that which surrounds us.

Maybe you’re down to nothing. Know this what you see as nothing, God establishes a world on. No money, no job, no opportunities, no faith even, no confide nce in you let alone God, yes “Nothing!” He takes “Nothing” and upon it builds you something that everything you had before could not build. Why? Because he wants to show you the work of his hand! Your hand has brought you much but now you’re down to nothing. Look at what Job said

How have you helped him who is without power? How have you saved the arm that has no strength, How have you counseled one who has no wisdom (v2.2,3) ? NOTHING! Your biggest test is about to be turned into your biggest platform, all because you kept your trust in the Lord and declared faithfully You have helped him. indeed these are the mere edges of his ways (V14).

He hangeth the world, yes your world, your destiny your tomorrow, your dream on nothing! Smile live big and make your praise an offering God is doing a miracle for you today…. Brother Paul

How Should We Preach To Others

Preach my gospel. And he said to them, Go you into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (Matthew 16:15).

I’m preparing myself for a coming revival in the States. My passion is to minister in PA and KY and whatever door God opens up in America. Its my passion! now I must once again turn it into a devotion to duty. Here are my thoughts to help guide me I truth they will help you too as a preacher.

To preach is a command. To preach the gospel is to preach Christ and him crucified. One cannot preach the gospel without preaching Christ. Some folks will counter-attack the question here with “No we have to be careful; how we preach!” My answer to that would be this, One cannot preach truly preach Christ unless one has Christ’s spirit, or Christ’s love. We should not agonize over the semantics but rather allow the word of Christ in us to unlock the word of Christ to others.

We are to preach as to turn the world upside down
These who have turned the world upside down (Acts 17:6).

We are to preach as to turn souls as well as Heads
And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children (Malachi 4:6).

We are To preach as to persuade and enlighten and not just entertain the mind and emotions
Preaching makes a demand. preaching is God speaking, God counseling God visiting man.man gets out of the way.God does the business. Man preaches but it is God who talks. Man uses the word But it is God himself the word that gives his own counsel. Man lights the fire, God comes as the fire. Man shows up in the pulpit but it is God that is seen in the pulpit.

We are to preach as to respect Bible authority
and whatsoever ye do do all in the name of the Lord Jesus (Col 3:17). Where there is no word from God there can be no faith in God. God must speak through the preacher as if there is in preacher. He is God’s vessel speaking.

We are called to Remind the Saints of the Truth
The words “remember” and “remembrance” are found in almost every New Testament book. God said “Beware lest thou forget Jehovah they God in not keeping his commandments and his ordinances and his statutes..lest thy heart be lifted up and thou forget Jehovah they God” (Deut 8:11-20) The preacher who preaches the ordinances will keep the people in the faith once delivered.

We are called to Preserve the truth and so save the saint.
Deception… giving heed to seducing spirits. ( 1 Tim 4:1) ‘Deceive’ as in “deceiving oneself” (Vine p28) we have the word “beguile” from the Greek “paralogizomai” one who comes alongside with “logic” As to “beguile” with logic as did the serpent with Eve (Genesis 3).  “Buguile” as to mislead by using scripture rather than  to being in the know by adherring and obedience to scripture. We as apostolic preachers have to persuade those who have a false sense of reasoning. Their “logic” is bad” human, sensual, carnal and man sourced. Nothing is more deceptive than our own reasoning’s, conclusions, assumptions and generalizations.

To preach truth one must fist be open to truth. and having truth will oppose error because he has a good knowledge of that too. He is one who knows the opponents argument as well as God’s answer. A preacher cannot preach until he first knows error as mush as he understands truth. His conviction that error is false comes from the understanding that truth is truth. He knows both sides of the story and hence can preach truth with conviction.

A Good preacher will always call to truth, because God said it even when he himself does not understand it. this then is the test of sincerity. In such a person there must be no “guile” (John 1:46).

We are called to restore the hurt and wounded
He restoreth my soul. (Psalm 23:3) Restore as to repair that which is broken. We are in great need today where the “soul” of man needs restoring. I’m referring to a rest, peace and place of God’s grace in the kingdom. The kingdom is a place of righteousness peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. The preacher is always to preach a revival of restoration and renewal in the Holy Ghost.

Is Christmas a heathen festival

The chat on facebook

Why do apostolics who deny the trinity, celebrate ChristMass?. Both trinity and Christmas are Catholic and pagan in origin, yet we call ourselves separated and holy! Isn’t that hypocritical? (Jer 10:2-8) ..
Just a thought.. You’re loved and blessings of the Lord to you all Here are a few of the 120+ comments The discussion on facebook

# I don’t deny Christmas but what scriptural evidence do you have which suggests the trinity is pagan Paul?
#PAUL Jesus is the evidence. If he is not enough then one is an unbeliever. If you want scriptural evidence then look at Isaiah 45).

# You’re right it is pagan in origin. I had stopped celebrating it for about 10 years. Then i started accepting invitations to christmas dinner(cause its just a meal) then i started accepting christmas gifts(because it was kind of them). Then i didn’t want to my grandchildren to feel hurt so i got them a gift. Pretty suttle I just realized. Thanks for pointing this out

ANDREW Aside from all the pagan elements Paul do the heathen celebrate Christmas because of Christ or because of everything else other than Christ?
Paul B Thomas Hi Andrew. the heathen don’t celebrate Christ. They celebrate Christmas. They are not saying, thank you Jesus for a day off work or thank you Jesus for being born. One cannot celebrate Christ unless one is in Christ.

Ryszard Płaskowicki I do not want to be in Ecumenism with the laws of the popes
Paul B Thomas Europeans, we’ve had thousands of years of lying Romish popery. Many other nations and denominations sadly embrace their leaven also .. They follow the Apostles creed and the roman road to salvation and don’t even know its deceptive lie..

Ryszard Płaskowicki so some things so deeply rooted in tradition that hardly anyone sees their origin and genesis
Sonny Cathey Richard you and Paul are both of my friends. It is amazing that now you communicate. I baptized Paul in Jesus name.
Richard Azriel Lawrence Here is another scripture showing Hannah observing an anniversary or a memorial of her son Samuel
Paul B Thomas My friend, may I add.. Birthdays is mans idea. salvation born in us is God’s idea. Salvation is not a day its an experience lived daily.

Marvin Sanguinetti, birthdays and anniversaries are not ‘religions’ but neither is Christmas, wouldn’t you agree? Christmas originated in paganism just like birthdays, is this not the truth?

Paul B Thomas Brother Martin thanks for allowing “out of the box” thinking this Jesus time.

Marvin SanguinettiI respect your honesty brother. If I should send you a birthday card, believe me, it would bear nothing but a prayer of thanksgiving for God’s blessings and continued longevity of life. Nothing to do with paganism. One love.

Paul B ThomasThats cool.. Amen Brother Marvin Thanks for your Input, time and ministry This forum is full of amazing people. Nothing like discussing Jesus!

Pagan” An adherent of a polytheistic religion. (The freedictionary).. Birthdays and anniversaries are not religions but are practiced religiously. If celebrating birthdays and anniversaries are religiously performed then that can be a form of religion practiced by pagans or anyone else for that matter. Whats different about Christmas is that it takes Christ and makes Christmas an event, That’s wrong and in my view has pagan origins and intentions.

Why did the Roman church give us the 25th of December? Quite convenient for them. They make it a holy day and the world accepts it. still does! How cunning to get the church to embrace its custom. Catholicism has always been good at getting the church to embrace its days, its customs and its dogma.

IN VAIN do they worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men…full well you REJECT THE COMMANDMENT OF GOD, that you may keep your own tradition” (Mark 7:7, 9).

Know you not, that to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants you are to whom you obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” (Rom. 6:16).

Many pagan festivals, including Christmas (Saturnalia), Easter (the festival of Ishtar), was observed long before Christs birth. The apostate church embraced the idea and enforced its celebration on its adherants. Long before the fourth century and long before the Christian era itself a festival was celebrated among the heathen at this precise time of year in honor of the son of the birth of a son of the Babylonian queen of heaven in order to conciliate the heathen and swell the numbers of the heathen. The festival was adopted by the Roman Church ( p93 The Two Babylons).

Even Turtulian (230) bitterly lamenting the inconsistancy of the disciples of Christ and contrasting it with the strict fidelity of the pagans to their own superstition By us he says who are strangers to new moons and festivals once acceptable to God the Saturnalia, the feats of january, the Bumalia and matronalia are now frequented. gifts are carried to and fro, new years presents are made with din and sports and banquests are celebrated with uproar. Oh how much more faithful are the heathen to their religion, who take special care to adopt no solemnity from the Christians” (TERTULIAN. De Idolatria vol1 page 162)

Among the Arabians was the worship of the Moon God, the Lord Moon who regarded the moon and not the sun as their preferred God the same period was observed as a birth festival thus we read in stanley, Sabean Philosophy On the 24th of the tenth month that is december the arabians celebrated the birthday of the Lord, that is the moon. Remarkable it is that the Muslims today worship Allah who is a moon God.

“Hogmanay” celebrated by the Scots on the last day of the year is dated back to the Saxons who worshipped the Lord “moon” the “man on the moon” too them was the Lord moon. Hog Manai or deus lunas the “numberer.”

Catholic Encyclopedia, 1911 edition, under “Christmas”: “Christmas was not among the earliest festivals of the Church…The first evidence of the feast is from Egypt.” Further, “Pagan customs centering round the January calenders gravitated to Christmas.” Under “Natal Day,” Origen, an early Catholic writer, admitted, “…In the Scriptures, no one is recorded to have kept a feast or held a great banquet on his birthday. It is only sinners (like Pharaoh and Herod) who make great rejoicings over the day on which they were born into this world” (emphasis mine).

The Encyclopedia Americana, 1956 edition, adds, “Christmas…was not observed in the first centuries of the Christian church, since the Christian usage in general was to celebrate the death of remarkable persons rather than their birth…a feast was established in memory of this event [Christ’s birth] in the 4th century. In the 5th century the Western church ordered the feast to be celebrated on the day of the Mithraic rites of the birth of the sun and at the close of the Saturnalia, as no certain knowledge of the day of Christ’s birth existed.”

Did Christ ever have a mass? The word “mass” is Catholic! Christ wasn’t Catholic. Catholicism is an alternative religion.
Take Christ out of Christmas, Christ was never in it! strange how the tree has taken the place of the cross and the lights on the tree taken the place of the light of the world. A coincidence! I think not rather a deliberate attempt by Rome and the pagans to worship another so called god. It’s for that reason I shall not celebrate it.

Christ in us the real gift.

CONCLUSION: If we are going to preach holiness, lets live it!
